» About Heart Gallery southeast

The Heart Gallery Program is an adoption recruitment program of Gift for a Child, Inc. designed to raise awareness and educate the community concerning the urgent need for foster and adoptive families in the Southeast, especially boys and girls for whom finding forever families is more difficult: sibling groups, special needs, minority and older children. Professional photographers photograph foster children whose parental rights have terminated for an exhibit designed to recruit prospective adoptive families.
Local photographers, members of national photographic associations and other photojournalists volunteer their time and talent by taking pictures of legally free children in Georgia and across the Southeast. Participating photographers work with Gift for a Child to produce professional, artistic portraits of children available for adoption.
The portraits will become a part of an ongoing traveling exhibit that will be utilized throughout the community, including local churches and businesses to promote adoption and foster care.
Our ultimate goal is to bring the community closer to the reality that there are thousands of children who are languishing in the child welfare system—we need your help to end this epidemic.
Child welfare and related agencies work closely with Gift for a Child regional project planners, volunteers, photographers and resources committed to helping establish a Heart Gallery to feature children waiting to be adopted.
